Barrington is a village located in Cook and Lake counties. Barrington is a northwest suburb of Chicago which is approximately 30 miles northwest of Chicago and the area itself features parks, forest preserves, wetlands and even horse trails in a country-suburban setting. Barrington is a great place for families with children due to the combination of highly rated public schools and college educated neighbors. Barrington is a somewhat ethnically diverse village. This village offers the largest residential historic district in Illinois and has its own downtown area. Home of the “Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital” which designated its emergency department as a Level II trauma center. Barrington is connected to US Route 14, Illinois Route 59, and Illinois Route 68.
